The advertisements for phone companies seem to be plastered over every advertising surface. If you aren’t currently reading this article on your phone, you are more than likely carrying a phone with you – or looking at an advertisement about new “phone coverage” or “handset”.
Technology seems to be the language that is universally spoken – we have definitely entered the technological age, and it is not slowing down. In which case, it is now more important than ever to consider planning for your phone plan – and working out what works best.
Phone plans are not always as advertised, however one this is certain – they are “lock in contracts” and it will cost you close to an arm and leg to break it. The deals offered will look fantastic at first glance; however getting to know the company and disclaimers before you sign up will save you strife.
Most companies will try to lock you in for around 24 months – at the end of this period you will be allowed to leave the contract or resign. Costs keep changing and the previous plan you signed up to will change also. So have your wits about you – and do your homework, we promise, it will pay off.
Check with other companies – compare and contrast the best two deals and offers you can find, and don’t be afraid to ask if they can throw in a little something extra to sweeten the deal. As for the contract, look over it as many times as you need – make sure you understand any extra charges, and speak up if you have questions, make the contract 100% in plain sight. Ensuring that you know exactly what you are signing up for will reduce any surprises you may encounter along the way.
